All meals are included in your package. How about some great home cooking that combines some of you favourite dishes with amazing, local ingredients? Northern-inspired cocktails? We’ve got those, too. The lodge is fully licensed and offers a wide range of your favourite beer, wine, liquor and non-alcoholic beverages.

And don’t worry: we cater deliciously to all dietary preferences, so just let us know your requests when you make your booking.

Along with our usual attention to food safety and sanitation, all meal service will follow COVID-19 protocols such as pre-plating your main entrees and staffing the buffet to serve you safely and generously. Seating groups will be social distanced if there are mixed parties in house or we will offer staged dining times to allow for more elbow room!

We’re adding some great ways to enjoy early morning coffee in your cabin with hot-out-of-the-oven bannock and jam and other baked treats left at your door.  Enjoy some solitude before you wander over to main lodge to tuck into some hearty eggs, baked French toast, crowberry pancakes – a different hot and hearty breakfast each day to set you up for a fabulous morning of activities.

And then we’ll send you out on the water with a few more goodies to tide you over till your picnic, lodge or shore lunch. Click here for sample menu.

Shore lunch is a staple of any self-respecting Canadian fishing lodge, but at Frontier we take pride in ensuring it’s a memorable part of your daily adventure and overall experience on Great Slave Lake.  We’ll outfit your guide with all the ingredients they’ll need to cook up a feast of freshly caught fish and other fixings. All you have to do is sit back and relax.

Be sure to ask about our infamous Frontier Chowder!

Not fishing but out on the water or land for a different adventure?  We’ll set you up with a cooler full of outstanding sandwiches, salads and desserts to enjoy throughout your day. Check out our Shore Lunch photo gallery.

Dinner is a communal affair – a time to share stories over generous plates of local fish, meat, pastas, fresh vegetables and salads that remind you of your grandma but are thoroughly up to date with local ingredients and presentation.  Juniper, pine tips, birch sap, cranberries, crowberries, wild blueberries, dried fish, bannock, homemade jams and jellies and more northern flavours.
